| Car Park Barrier The car park barrier has been repaired and is now in working order. There can however be a delay in the barrier re-closing. To avoid unauthorised cars driving through before the barrier has had time to close, car park users are advised to present their card to the reader and then wait a short time (counting to five is about right) until the barrier is fully raised before driving forward. If you wait until the barrier is fully raised before driving under it then it should help to avoid the long delays before it closes again. This is for both in and out barriers. | |

| Use of Distance-Measuring Devices At
our AGM we were asked to consider whether the use of distance measuring
devices could be allowed in our competitions. The Executive Committee
discussed this and has agreed that they will be allowed. We will therefore
introduce the following Local Rule with immediate effect.
“For play in all competitions a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If, during a competition, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. gradient, windspeed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.” The committee will however monitor the use of these devices and may review the decision to allow them if their use appears to be contributing to slow play. |
